What did you do for your 968 this week?

Quote:I have spent 3 hours today repairing a water damaged Motronic ECU, it had one pin completely missing, bit of a pain as it was in row 3, right at the bottoms.

all done put it in the car just on the lead not bolted in, works fine, save a fellow 968 owner $1600

Ok as I can't edit the original post,

the missing pin

So after a lot of fiddling and a bit of surgery, pin replaced

Cleaned the rest of the pins up, sealed it with clear nail varnish, then hung it in the car to test

Perfect working order now

Well done, as said that would have been fiddly. But the missing pin ... not trapped in the socket? And if not, what was its purpose?

The car had been parked outside and leaves had blocked the two drains in the space between the screen and engine, water had been soaking the ecu for a while

The owner was driving and the car just stopped and would not run again, the AA transported it to a indie, and when they unplugged the ECU the pin snapped off in the harness plug,

The indie sourced a second hand plug and replaced that cut and shut wire for wire, as the plug was fully rotted out, the ECU is $1800 exchange, so I fixed it for him, car is now running again

Very nice, spectacular reflection!!

Cruise sorted .... so where did that micro-switch go?  Maybe CC forum, but anyway I'm still interested.

My ankle is 99% healed so I'm hoping to get a bit done this weekend, it's been a long frustrating wait.

It’s a special week as I’m getting to drive my 968 after months of work.  New drive line bearings through the torque tube. New engine, rebuilt the power steering rack, replace all the PS lines (no leaks). Redone Cup 2 wheel set and new tires. Fully detailed by Señor Tomato (of Dallas Texas). Took it out for a mountain drive here in Colorado and picked up Mother’s Day dinner. Yeah, that’s what I did for my 968. (Speed Yellow cab)

Great color , love speed yellow !   Not so much the summer yellow which was also a factory color, but that’s all subjective.   Anything ( well almost ....) looks good on a 968 ..
