Howdy Folks!
Well, it's been about 10-months since we added a 968 to the P-Car coral, so I figured that it was high time we joined the group here. It's just been a really busy year and we're in the process of moving and relocating our business across the States, so there has just not been any free time. We do have a couple of kinks to iron out with the car, so we'll be on the community's doorstep here soon - asking for advice, I'm sure...
We're pretty deep into ownership of other Stuttgart tanks; two 1987 928 S4s with Rotrex Superchargers (one is basically just a test-mule), a 1974 911 wide-body with a 3.0 SC engine and full Rasant Products ITB setup running EMtron standalone engine management (again, a demo / R&D car), a 1983 07K-swapped 944 - also on standalone (also with a Rotrex S/C development underway) and then this this 968.) My wife only drives automatics and she LOVES convertibles, so...
We're standing there last summer looking at this local, low mileage, single-ownership, near-perfect car and chatting with the gentleman selling in on behalf of his customer and I said "...you know that this here is probably the ONLY person in the world who LOVES this specific specification, right...?" I mean, a Cabriolet and it's a Tip / Auto! Who else is going to buy that!? So we did.
We really enjoyed taking it on sundown cruises last summer and through autumn, but it's a different experience for me (from, say - the 911 or example that's much more rowdy.) It's the kind of car that you enjoy for what it is and accept for what it's not. It really needs some kick, so there's probably a Rotrex S/C in it's future as well.
Anyway, Cheers!
