Howdy Folks!

Well, it's been about 10-months since we added a 968 to the P-Car coral, so I figured that it was high time we joined the group here. It's just been a really busy year and we're in the process of moving and relocating our business across the States, so there has just not been any free time. We do have a couple of kinks to iron out with the car, so we'll be on the community's doorstep here soon - asking for advice, I'm sure...

We're pretty deep into ownership of other Stuttgart  tanks; two 1987 928 S4s with Rotrex Superchargers (one is basically just a test-mule), a 1974 911 wide-body with a 3.0 SC engine and full Rasant Products ITB setup running EMtron standalone engine management (again, a demo / R&D car), a 1983 07K-swapped 944 - also on standalone (also with a Rotrex S/C development underway) and then this this 968.) My wife only drives automatics and she LOVES convertibles, so...

We're standing there last summer looking at this local, low mileage, single-ownership, near-perfect car and chatting with the gentleman selling in on behalf of his customer and I said "...you know that this here is probably the ONLY person in the world who LOVES this specific specification, right...?" I mean, a Cabriolet and it's a Tip / Auto! Who else is going to buy that!? So we did.

We really enjoyed taking it on sundown cruises last summer and through autumn, but it's a different experience for me (from, say - the 911 or example that's much more rowdy.) It's the kind of car that you enjoy for what it is and accept for what it's not. It really needs some kick, so there's probably a Rotrex S/C in it's future as well.

Anyway, Cheers!
Welcome.. As a former 86.5 928 and supercharged 968 owner that is a really nice looking setup on that 911 and 928.
I have this other terrible idea rolling around in my head, so our underpaid "in-house design department" rendered up something visual to express it...
I count 5... cilinders? Tell me more.

Well, the "07K" VW / Audi 5-cylinder swap is probably the fastest growing engine swap out in the world today. There are still lots of Chevy V8s making it into all sorts of cars around the world, but in terms of newly developed swap ideas, the 07K probably takes the crown! We see BMW E30 and E36 chassis getting them, swaps into Audi A4 models, little VW Rabbit and Caddy mini pickups and even a Porsche Cayman getting one.

They are compact, robust and cheap to come by (with HUGE power potential.) It's basically half of the V10 Lamborghini Gallardo engines (akin to the Audi S6 V10, the Audi S8 V10 and the Audi R8 V10...) There are lots of Porsche 944 and 968 projects running around out there with this engine now - NA and turbocharged. We're building a couple of them with Rotrex Superchargers.
