Just bought my first Porsche
#1

Just bought a 28K mile Amazon Green Metallic / Black/ Classic Grey 1993 968 manual Cab in showroom condition.   My lucky day.   Been looking for a collectible Porsche for four years.   Started looking for a pristine 928, but along the way became enamored with the 968 Cab and can't wait until spring to get her out on the country roads again.   Just saw the post from Rob in the UK, another newbie, who seems to have found my exact car in the UK.   We'll have to exchange pictures.   Looking forward to getting all the inside tips from all you 968 long term sages on upkeep and maintenance.     Tom

Welcome,

There are some items which are age related, as well as mileage related (Timing Belt/Balance Shaft Belt being the 2 that will destroy your enjoyment of this beautiful car).

Hello to fellow Amazon Cab owner!  Can't believe the colour combination was so popular back then, and a manual too.  Unfortunately mine is not exactly showroom condition.  I'm doing a rather slow rolling restoration but this Covid thing is restricting people quite a bit here in the UK.  Home schooling is the biggest time sink.  I'm lucky I've not had the virus though, fingers still crossed.

Good luck

Rob

Keep it on those 16 wheels, be a much more pleasant ride, each inch on wheel size shakes more fillings loose in a cab

Looks good on them too

Looks very nice. Funny to notice the small differences between the Euro model and the North America. Deleted side marker and the stupid tiny bumper (what where they thinking) between the front turn signal and the fog light.

I don't understand the Amazon reference...... Are they using 968s for deliveries these days? It would explain why stuff arrives so quickly!

Funny thing is I talked with the guy who ordered this car new, colour combination and everything.  He says its always had these same wheels despite it having the optional wheel code on the build sticker thing.  I'm keeping it as standard as I can, its never going to beat a modern hot hatch for performance and I like the look.

You will be surprised at the performance

There are not many cars that are sub 7 seconds 0-60, not that cost less 14k
