Weird wheel bearing sound
#1

Hi everyone.

Just put my front struts and brakes back on the car and when I rotate the rotor on the right hand side (RHD drivers side) there seems to be vibration and noise in the wheel bearing at one particular point as I revolve it.

It didn't make this noise when I fitted them originally.

The car has been stood about a year though

Any opinions, has the grease dried out.

should I fit a new bearing.

It is possible a spot of corrosion set in while the car was stationary. Does it sound bad while driving? It probably would be prudent to change the bearing if there is any doubt. Fortunately wheel bearing failures are not usually catastrophic. They usually let you know well in advance.
