Chirping sound coming from right rear
#1

I have a chirping sound coming from the right rear (?). I had the rear brakes (rotor and pads) replaced and new bearings.but it still chirps. I can hear in right hand turns but only after I have driven for a while. The pads are Pagid orange and Zimmerman rotors. Any thoughts?

because you had the brakes done, i would immediately suspect the parking brake retaining spring.

I get a chirp from my rear tires too. Of course it usually follows pressing the big pedal and releasing the clutch. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/3gears.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Check rear hatch, they can squeak and chirp anytime with body flex, or while turning. Check the pins and adjust.

+1 on the rear hatch. I had a sound coming from the back end I described as 'chirping' and it turned out to be the spoiler. Here was the thread I started about that: http://www.968forums.com/topic/12693-chi...msearch__1

Hope your fix is as easy as mine was!

I don't think it's the rear hatch as I hear a squeal sometimes when I brake slowly. I also had them check the parking brake when they did the brakes.

they may not have looked at the spring, or it may have popped right after you left. it happens all the time. never use the parking brake unless you absolutely have to, and never engage it when the brakes are hot. that spring is rather fragile. it frequently snaps when the brake is engaged and then somebody forgets to release it before they start to move the car. i always recommend that it be changed when doing the rear brakes.
