Smaller steeing wheel?
#1

Been thinking back to the late sixties and to my pals Austin Cooper, green with creamy white roof. Remember them? Ah wonderful! A proper mini! Not like this German rip off rubbish we have now. Ever looked at the back of one of them? I've seen a better looking baboons arse, and don't get me started on the " clubman" version. Anyway, there was a thing round that time( the late sixties) for tiny 6" diameter steering wheels! Not what I would recommend for our 968 beasties, but I thought " has any members tried a smaller than 360mm diameter wheel to get more feel from things"? I know Flash will pipe up he's tried all sorts ( steering wheels that is)! So lets hear it boy! Spill the beans! Oh, all other comments from all and sundry also welcome, yes yes, that includes you Rap.

lol - mine is 355mm

i like small wheels. i traditionally ran a 13" in the MGs, having tried a 12" but finding it too tiring with the big tires i had under it and no power steering.

Isn't there a danger your arms can get tangled up? Considering the lock to lock on the 968. You have mentioned in the past Flash about 2.5 turns being a nice rack number.

Small steering wheels are great - they let you drive with handcuffs on...

You must have been really good for your parole officer to let you out early! Congrats. Lol I have not delved into the wheel issue as yet. I hope to listen and learn. Folks, AJG really wasn't in prison. He was over in Syria doing some wet work.

Ok back OT <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.png" class="smilie" alt="" /> I have a 330 mm Momo Jet2 and, surprisingly, the car is very drive-able with little extra effort. Tons of leg room now as well for us tall guys. Might go to a 350 one day but only for pure aesthetic reasons, you know what they say about cars with small wheels....

330mm is not a lot different in effort terms it would need to be about 280mm to give a meaningful difference.
