COUPE REAR SEAT DELETE
#1

What is the best way to do away with the rear seat in a coupe? Do cab. parts fit right in?

Maybe someone else has done it and has photos. I would prefere to do it myself with some kind of a package tray made from fiberglass and carpeting. Looking forward to your ideas. Thanx, Matt <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Search for photos under my user name.

I have used the cab rear cubbies. They bolt right in using the rear seat belt bolts.

There will be a 2" gap on either side in which a filler piece can easily be made.

I also used the Cab rear compartment piece with the locking storage compartments. I did not like the way it fit as it came so I cut the front pieces away from the top portion and replaced the top piece with a flat, plywood piece that I cut out after making a cardboard pattern. I bought a used rear hatch crpet that matched my Coupe carpets (light gray) and carpeted the top portion. I left the storage compartments black plastic without carpeting over them. It looks good and saves a few pounds. Good luck, Bob Blackwell.

Flash, I just removed the rear cubbie on my cab and wondered what your solution for dealing with the metal tabs was?

Cheers. Joel

cut the weld - bend them down - smack them down - pull carpet over them

Hi everyone

I re-installed my rear seats on the 968 and took out the Redline bolt-in roll (in black if anyone is interested PM me). Unfortunately, the car did not come with the outer lower bolts for the rear backs anymore. The rear backs are now only held by the middle fixation and the top outer part. I tried finding the bolts but was not successful at all. Does anyone know where to get them? I am looking for the lower outer rear back seat bolts to fix the rear back to the car.

Thanks a lot for your help
