Hi all, wonder of anyone can help;

The rear demister on my 1995 968 doesn't work. Fuse is OK and the switch light comes on. All connections seem clean etc..... any pointers?

Thanks

Be sure that the connectors that are on the strut that hold the hood open are not broken. And also check that the connection of the wire to the window itself it not broken.

Thanks, in daylight i'll check.

There seems to be four connectors, 2 clearly are the rear screen as attach to the element. Are the other two screen as well? Or trunk light?

Trunk light is the other one but definitely check the shock connections as that's how the little electrons get to the grid. The switch on the right top is prone to being flakey. It is hard to respring because of the plastic jacket but can be done with a small set of needle nose pliers.

I have similar problem. However I seem to receive power to the window if I test it with multimeter and it is very unlikely that all of the stripes would be broken... I hope that it is just some connection that I loose when I close the trunk. I must investigate more..

Well if either of us work it out report back here!

I can see the cables are very short and only just reach, i'm going to makeup a couple of temporary new one's and see if that works.

I had the same thing, and I found the connector going to the window on the same side as the rear interior light was broken away from the spade terminal, but was hidden by its plastic sleeve, it had just given way..

Well I just re soldered both conectors, on both sides of the rear screen with new spade terminals, and all working, I do have two heating element lines on the glass not working though, anyone know of a reliable fix for this ?

I had 3 damaged lines from the previous owner. I bought a kit at the local auto hardware store which consisted of a copper paint. It came with a little mask and brush. Masked off the lines and painted 4 times with appropriate drying time and the defroster works great so far.

But in your case you could see that some lines where not working and some not, right?

Yes mine run right through the middle of the screen, also I noticed last night, I have a third along the bottom edge , will have to have a look out in my local auto store for a kit .
