Sunday I went through the dragon in my Cab. I have run it for years on 150hp motorcycles and have drove it in various cars over the years too.



Nothing like running a 968 through there though!



My Yoko tire combination worked great. Only two places where I got her in a 4 way drift with the 235/40 265/35 combination. Nice cool air with snow on the peaks in the distance (Snowed Saturday -wierd weather).



Couple places you can pull up to 100-110 - otherwise you are working 2nd gear and stuffing 3rd only to immediately downshift again. 318 curves times two - yahoo!!!! <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/blink.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />



We gotta get a trip together! Were some other cars hitting it hard - modified Audi TT's were turning it loose.

Sounds like a great time, James! I almost went on the Tail of the Dragon two years ago while vacationing in the Smokies. Unfortunately, the day I had planned to straigthen all those curves, I was sick. By the way, were the crotch rockets out in force, as usual? Glad you had a safe and enjoyable trip. One more thing: why is your beautiful ride for sale?

You need a Cab in that line-up. Crotch Rockets where coming in heavy just as I was wrapping up. I hit it around 9:30 - so mainly just the few staying at "The Crossroads of Time" were out already. All the way back to Bryson City I spotted full leathers and tricked out bikes heading that direction.



As for the car - it is for sale if some one shows up interested. Need to get back to the house expansion. If it does not go for awhile I'll just keep adding things to it. Next purchase will be the rollbar from Flash or Autopower (then can mount camera for next run through the Dragon - yeah, that's the ticket). May sell the 18's and go back stock with spacers. Part of me likes the "stock" look - except I will polish them out.



Taking Cab on vacation middle of April. Getting the AC converted tomorrow and installing new compressor. Wife likes cold air!! She would not have wanted to be in the car for my run yesterday!

Yes, I have looked at cabs in the past, but prefer the greater stability of the coupes. For now, driving with the targa top removed is going to have to placate me. I must say that I am very impressed by your cab, and if you still have it when I am ready to add another machine to the lineup, I will be giving you a call! Where are you heading for vacation? It wouldn't happen to be an extended drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway, would it? I did that last Fall, and it was heavenly!



Yes, I'm sure she does. It seems that everyone but me must have cold air. Personally, I'm fine with the windows down, even at 95 degrees. If it were left up to me, I wouldn't renew my A/C ever; in fact, I would probably just remove it for weight savings. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />



I'll bet if she would have been in that run on the Dragon yesterday that she would be really pressing you to get rid of that machine. Personally, I'm glad that you drove it the way the factory intended! <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

That is one reason it does not bother me that my car is not a "10" - if it was I would not enjoy it.



I use to deal with vettes allot. Most were too nice and the mileage either depreciated them or worried about them getting damaged. One 65 roadster was a different story - had 327 with inline matched AFB 4-barrels, pink rods,... the works. I never put perfect paint on it so if I missed a curve no problem. Second 4-barrel would come in around 80 mph - then the fun would start. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
