Its a non-problem. Take both! I'll drive the other one! I'll even offer up a trailer and support vehicle! That's just the kind of guy I am....

NJMP next weekend? Test & Tune on Fri and races Sat and Sun.

As you can see I loaded FH/GT first. It was maiden voyage with GT motor. I'll need to get comfortable with 295 RWHP and build up to 365...

My biggest worry with GT Motor was heat. All 968s run hot on track even with dual oil coolers and cooling system tricks.

The GT coolant ran at first mark all day and oil temp peaked at 211. This was on 90 degree and super humid day.

I ran much hotter than car!

Cool! (How could I resist? [Image: biggrin.gif])

Seriously that's pretty amazing. What do you attribute it to?

GT Motor is stock block with very thin steel sleves. CP lightweight pistons (12.6:1)and custom ring package. Std crank weight although cross drilled for lubrication. Balance shaft delete. Stage 2.5 head. Modifed stock intake and throttle body. Billet two piece cams with adjustable sprockets. New 3" racing exhaust. RS Barn tuned .

I modified block and waterpump for more flow. Also using Engine Ice coolant . I only have tried this in one other car and haven't checked with customer to see results.

Part of running cool could be coolant and tuning. I figured out how to trick ECU and run part throttle at ideal A/F along with wide open.

I would love to see the FH on the track !!! The turbo is great but I want to see how much you can wring out of an NA motor.

Dying to hear more about the racing exhaust (I keep checking your web site, but I figure you'd let us know on the forum when it's ready for prime time).

I took some pictures of racing exhaust on customers car. He went off at Summit Point into red clay mud and exhaust looks 10 years old. Not the best to post on site.

With my new phone I may fire up FH and record sound track. Even at idle it sounds mean...

I don't have a clue what it sounds like at track with WOT. While driving you just hear what resonates through gutted body. What is really cool is decel sounds. All sorts of 110 octane burning.

Any idea when it will be ready for sale? And what kinds of other mods (head, cams, injectors, FPR, chip, etc.), if any, are required to work with it? Thanks.

Is that done via the TPS so it only runs WOT maps?

NO

Several resistors need to be put in wiring harness.

I checked with customer running Engine Ice Coolant and he said his car runs much cooler. He was always at 10 while on track and now at 9.

I was always at ten and above. Hood louvers moved down to 9 and Engine Ice seemed to move to 8. Agrees with their claim of 15-20 degree temp drop .

What's nice is coolant temp drop equals oil temp drop. Both good

Hmmm... I'll have to check into that. I wonder what's the mechanism behind the improved cooling. Here in Texas, anything to improve cooling is a good thing.

Edit: I did a bit of searching, and found the Engine Ice was originally developed for motorcycles, and has only recently been used in cars, primarily in racing applications. Overall reviews are pretty favorable. Sounds like this may warrant a new thread, once there is more data. Please keep us posted on your impressions. Thanks.

Pete: without spilling any secrets, seems a certain someone has modified a thermostat on a 944s and it now runs at 1/4 mark on the track. I'm tempted to let this certain someone do it on my 968.

944's temd to run much cooler than 968's. I've modified thermostats, removed thermostats and modified waterpumps.

The 3.0L blocks tend to heat up and continue to raise temps in coolant and oil. The oil filter housing is a heat exchanger and does exactly that.
