would increasing the hp (and cfm) of the cooling fans be possible ?

I have never had an overheating problem on the track in my S2 - even on very hot summer days. The temp gauge never goes above the top white mark - and that is running with a Promax chip. What would cause the 968 to run so much hotter than the S2? Is it possibly because the extra compression ratio and volumetric efficiency of the variocam engine pushes it beyond the design parameters of the cooling system which was originally designed for the S2?

Sounds mean...... I'm curious what RPM is the rev limit set to?

I think rev limit set @ 7300 or so. I was shifting at 6800-7000. On the dyno sheet, power starts dropping at 6700 or so. When I originally tested on engine dyno with custom intake power was still climbing at 7200 or so. We had too large a TB on and software issues.

The cams are designed to make peak power at 7600rpm or so.

Thanks, will it rev safely to 7600 or do things start to get dicey?

The bottom end is built to go to 8k with Carillo rods and very light pistons. Valves will start to float somewhere between 7600-7800rpm.

So is this coolant silicate and phosphate free?

Take a look at their web site - I remember that it's phosphate free; not sure about silicate content, though.
