Tire size
#1

I know this is probably an old topic but is anyone running (225/50/16 frt and 245/45/16 bk) on stock(cup1's) wheels? Are there any fit/rubbing issues to be concerned with?I currently have 205/55/16 and 225/50/16 on frt and rear but am looking to fill the wheels wells up a little(also contemplated moving up to 17 or 18).

Should I take the deafening silence on this topic as good or bad?

Answers will come...I don't personally have experience in this area, or I'd be happy to give my two cents!

That's exactly what I'm running, both for street tires and track tires. No issues.

Thanks, thats all I wanted to hear(especially in light of the fact that I have already ordered the tires). After 4 944's and now this,I never take for granted that "it ought to work".I had garage full of parts that should have worked. Thanks again.

I run these rears also (but use 205/55 front) and have two issues that might be important to you.

1. 245/45 16 inch seems to be a VERY hard size to locate. I had a tough time getting replacement tires.

2. the 9" rear wheel that I had on my car was a 70 mm offset that set the tires inboard too much. I had to install a 27 mm spacer to push them out. This may have been a unique thing with my car and the PO but I was lead to believe that the 9x16 inch tires were from a 911 not a 968. I don't think that 968s came with this wheel size as an option. Be sure to check your offset.

I think the stock wheels(ones on the vehicle) are 7 and 8's(hence my questioning on rubbing-lot of tire to squeeze on 8 " rim).Trying to stay away from spacers. Thanks for the feedback.
