Tire pressure gauge recommendations?
#1

Switched the snow tires on my Buick DD back to all seasons last night (hooray for spring approaching in Wisconsin!), and couldn't find a (working) tire pressure gauge.

Gaaahhh!

That's it I'm going to buy one for each car. Again. But I want good quality

Wondering what features everyone likes?

Are digital gages any more accurate than dial, assuming a quality product overall?

Any standby go-to brands? (I see accutire show up in a number of lists)

I got a digital one as a throw in from Tire Rack...I like it better than the "fancy" one from Griots.

JMHO,

Jay

I have an accutire that was a CR top pick and it works great. Cost @ $12 if my memory serves me correctly. It works on those rigid valve stems, like BMW's w "run flats" as well. JMHO

I have analog gauge that I bought 40 year's ago. After 40 years I bought another one for my 2nd car. And the company rebuilt the first one for free. accurate to 2%. the brand name is Accu-Guage. it is 0-60 pounds. $14.14. There are many other models on amazons site.

I never liked the digital gauges, even the expensive ones did not work all that well . I'm all for analog. I don't know the brand but I have a couple which look like a tire ( sold just about in every auto store ) and they've been very accurate and very reliable for many years . Unless you're racing on the F1 circuit where 0.05 psi makes a difference, a 2 or 3 % margin of error is good enough for me.

I also have an analog Accu-gage, had it for over 30 years. The hose between the Guage and the valve stem attachment began to leak a couple of years ago. They sent me a new hose with all connectors. Seems it has a lifetime warranty. No questions asked. Made in USA. Very accurate, used it on my track cars for years.0-60 lbs. Not a good size fora 968 glove box but if you want a great guage, buy one. There's plenty of room in the trunk compartments to store it.

OCD types like digital for its presumed accuracy. I forget the name of mine but it leaves me with the impression that my tires are all of the same inflation. It's really only used at the track where there seems to be a constant fiddling with tire pressures.

. That tells me your digital gauge is malfunctioning and stuck at the same reading now :-) :-)

Nope I bang it against the tire to reset it before each application!
