No idea, but I'd be interested in the same answer. At $ 270 ( flat stoppers ) to $ 350 ( tire cradle ) for those things, I'd hope they do what they claim, but how would you know , lol ? Unless you park two identical cars with identical tires and leave both them sitting for three months or more how do you know if your tires wouldn't have been perfectly fine without those devices also ?
BTW, on the Tire Cradle site they state that a shimmy or vibration you feel in the steering wheel between 66 and 70 mph but at no other speed above or below that is " almost always " caused by a permanent flat spot on your tires. Uhh, really ?! So given that the 66-70 mile shimmy is not just almost, but absolutely always a balance issue that gets resolved with a small weight(s) added to the wheel, are we to think all tires, even brand new ones , have permanent flat spots causing that shimmy which can miraculously be cured with a tiny piece of led and double stick tape ? Hey that's a much cheaper option than $ 300 + for the cradles <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.png" class="smilie" alt="" />
I'm planning to leave my blue 968 parked for a few months during the rainy season, if we have a rainy season that is, but thinking about just adding 3 or 5 more psi to the tires for the duration. If the cradles were cheap I might have ordered those as well just for the heck of it, but at that price I also need some proof of their effectiveness...and on Michelin Pilot Sports PS2 in our 17 stock sizes, not on some any given cheap-ass poorly manufactured tire. Asking for a lot, ain't I ? :-)
