Speaker Grilles for the Mid-Range and Tweeter
#1

Hi,

I have a set of the 968 panels that has the tweeter, mid-range, and woofer (under the armrest). The panels did not come with the original speakers and therefore I don't have the speaker grilles.

Can I buy the grilles separately or is someone here willing to sell me theirs?

Thanks!

I have a set somewhere of standard black OEM grills, but not sure if they will cover all those speakers

Grills are missing the inner fiber paper and will need to be painted. Otherwise OK.

That should work as long as they're not dented. I only need covers for the the tweeter and 3.5" mid range (under the window switches). Let me know.

Thanks

One more thing...

Has anyone found speaker sets that have grilles which fit properly onto the 968 door panels? Again, this is for the tweeter and the mid-range.

heyma: thought you said "under the armrest" I have a set of those. Here is a pic...

the grills fit into a plastic surround which forms the door pocket forward. this part is also carpeted. I don't have the pockets as they fell apart upon removal and are now in the trash..

Sorry xrad. The "under the armrest" was just referring to the woofer. Do you know if aftermarket speakers' grilles will fit the tweeter and mid-range (that's under the window switches) locations? Or do I have to buy OEM grilles, which I believe come with the speakes?

not offhand. Some companies offer replacement grills which are generally a close fit (such as Parts Express...or type 'speaker grills' on ebay) but nothing fits like the originals. If these are original OEM, they are 15yrs old and you would do well to replace the speakers and tweets with new ones(buy ones with grills and which come with crossovers )
