Hi, attached is a pic of my new Forgeline ZX3R custom 18" rims, in matt black, with Titanium fittings. They are fantastic.

aside: Hi Craig, I tried to find you a few time at Bathurst to say hi the other day. Had a few issues with ignition after just 5 laps that are now sorted....a lead turned out to be loose, so maybe we can meet next time. At least a mate leant me an e46 M3 to drive around at 80% pace! Fast but heavy. And what a great circuit! p.s....dont reply by post... it gets us in trouble if we converse about side topics on these forums!

So, lets keep enjoying the rims.

Was that your car at Bathurst that looked to have a stuck on front calliper? Was the front left disc red hot (I was up in the Corporate suite when one of the 968's parked on Pit straight and as it went by it looked like the front left disc was red hot?

BUF BTR2 wheels. 8,5x18 in front and 10x18 out back. ET 61 all around and a 6 mm spacer in the front. I will probably space the rear 6-8 mm too.

I weighed them before putting them on and after subtracting the official weight of the R888 I get 27 lbs for the rear rim and just shy of 26 lbs for the front. Not too bad although not exactly light. They look sturdy though.

Before putting away my old wheels (Cup II 7,5 and 9 by 17) I weighed them too. The rears are about 8 lbs lighter than my new RUF and the difference in tire weight is only 0.8 lbs according to the Toyo website (255/40-17 vs 265/35-18). I hope the extra mass sits where it's doing some good...

Red?!? It is common knowledge that Riviera Blue is the fastest color so naturally that's what I have

Very nice firefish.

I think you made the right choice going with black wheels.

Riviera Blue is one of my favourite colours. My childhood dream is to own a 964 RS club sport in Riviera/Maritim blue or . And just so I stay on topic....I want a set of the magnesium wheel on this RS

Personally I don't care too much about wheel weight as long as it is reasonable. Our cars are capable of pretty high speeds and personally I don't like the idea of a rim failing at 150 mph. I'd rather sacrifice a few pounds to the heavy side to be safe.
Yes, there are strong and light alternatives but most often they come with a price tag that is a bit too hefty for me, not to mention that the design in many cases aren't appealing (to me that is).

He who I bought my RUFs from has a 996 GT2 with Dymag carbon fibre wheels (the spokes are alloy) and they are very very very light. But you wouldn't wanna scratch them...

I'll join the fun. 18" 993 Technology 1 Hollow Spokes. Re finished in Volvo Paint code VOL932 (Anthracite) which is the color they used for 96-97 Volvo 850 R wheels.

Fox, I really like the color you painted your wheels, I always thought the 850R wheels looked nice. I was going to do that with the new wheels I just mounted, but I thought I'd wait until next time I changed tires as the finish is still good.

Link, the black wheels look good on red, are you going to tint the windows?

Thank you. I was originally going to go black but after some thought i decided to have them re finished in Anthracite. Thought the dark grey would look better with my planed CF spoilers & marble grey interior.
