I have just instructed my Web guy to add new pricing for Motorsport Flywheel @ $679 and introductory price for Spring centered Clutch Disc @ $299

In anticipation of the clutch discs coming, I ordered a larger quanity of Flywheels and got a better price at the manufacturer.

This was the game plan early on to offer a performance upgrade for equal to or less than OE pieces

You are able to get the factory pressure plate as well, not the newer heavier pressure unit, right? Now, here's a new question. I finally got the 968 flywheel lock. Does it work with the new flywheel or would I now need a 944 style flywheel lock? I'm assuming that the new solid flywheel is thinner than the DMF or is it but it has a built in offset?

Great work guys, I think you really worked hard on this. Thats a great price point on the flywheel.

Same with the clutch disk. Its not like you are going to sell 25,000 of these. I am surprised you are able to keep the prices within grasp. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

I replaced mine last year and still may go down this road. I have not made a cash infusion to the Newtown, Pa economy in a year or so.

The Spring centered clutch disc will fit with a Fidenza. A few mods needed but I can guide.

Light flywheel seems interesting mod. would you have any performance specs how the flyweel affects to the car performance / characteristics? (G-tech, dyno, etc.)



Any effect on torque / hp - some claim there would be loss of torque in the lower rpm's, how does it feel?



how is the spring centered clutch working with the LWF, compared to stock OEM clutch + FW?

there is an interesting site with an explantion of the "torque loss" - it isn't really torque loss, but rather a sensation of it, due to the lack of the resistance of the heavy flywheel



what you "feel" is not always what is really going on



a good analogy would be the difference one might feel if they had big brakes up front, versus smaller ones - the nose dive from the big ones might lead you to believe it's braking better, when in reality, it could actually be upsetting the balance, and placing it all on the front - it might not actually stop faster - (before any of you "big red" fans jump up and down, there are a lot of tother things involved and required to make bigger brakes work well, and yes, they can be better if those are done)



another good one, and is very common, is the sensation that happens when you stiffen a rear suspension - the car "feels" slower - this is because the weight shift to the rear under acceleration is no longer so dramatic

So, Pete and Flash, what's the result of your work on the new clutch and flywheel? Does the combo reduce the chatter and rattle of changing to the SMF alone?



I'm not going to change until the next time I need to replace the clutch but that's a prety good time to consider it. I definitely can live with the changed driving characteristics but I don't want to drive around with a lot of noise.

Can you tell me , the "motorsport" flywheel you supply,, Is it one that you have manufactured OR is it a "remodeled" Fidanza .???

Is it an alloy fly or steel.??

As the pic that is now on your site doesnt look the same as a "Porsche Motorsport" type.???
