Rebuilding Koni Shocks on an M030 car
#1

William,

Thank you for contacting us here at KONI NA. The MO30 shocks and struts can be rebuilt. The price to rebuild the struts are $170/ea. plus parts. The shocks are $140/ea. plus parts. Parts typically range $50-$80 per damper as well depending on what all needs replaced during the time of the service.  Unfortunately our current lead time is 12+ weeks for a rebuild.  There are however 3 other Authorized KONI Service centers, which will have much shorter lead times, and pricing will vary. If you are looking for a quicker turnaround.

I have a few friends who used True Choice and had good luck with the rebuilt units.  They revalved the shocks for the spring rate being used and made the fronts double adjustable.

I got my M030 shocks/struts rebuilt by truechoice last June. Amazing the difference of a fresh suspension. Their turnaround time was 2 weeks.

Over the winter, I noticed a puddle forming under my right rear shock. Sure enough, it was leaking already. Sent it in a week and a half ago and waiting for repair. Probably not the norm, but it didn't hold up to the ~800 miles I put on the car last year. A little surprised I haven't heard from TC yet in regards to them receiving it.

I just bought a couple of months ago just two new m030 koni struts/shock for the back. Brand new including a porsche partnumber. The difference is amazing..between old and new.

Where did you find brand new ones to buy? was it from Sunset Porsche here in Portland Oregon?

Given that "Unknown" lives in the Netherlands, my guess would be "No".

I called sunset on a different matter and they told me that new Konis are still available but at a much higher price, somewhere around $800 each

Koni is a Dutch company, so it would be common sense to source them over here.

Go with Paragon, you can get the insert and the OE strut mod done, and painted, for $100 less than that. And the rear shocks are $133.

Personally, I'm seriously thinking just going with the OEM F&S struts/shocks, if I can find anyone with a right side strut that is. I'm not sure the Koni would be an improvement for the kind of driving (pleasure) I do.

I have a set of Koni's in transit from Paragon now, new bump rubber and dust caps. Not changing the spring rate and can't lower the car so staying with stock springs/torsion bars. Hope to get installed and realigned over the next couple of weeks. Have high expectations for improved handling and ride for about the same money as OEM, esp with the M030 bars I just installed. Flash has a preferred setup that probably would be a lot better but more $, of which I have overspent on other mods this spring..... Good thing my wife doesn't read this forum.....
