hatch and bonnet struts
#1

Replaced my bonnet and hatch struts today. hatch now pops open when the under dash button is pressed. Found a few lights out in the taillight. have to get a new one.

Also, have to take out battery to replace front right bonnet strut. Saw a bunch of muck under battery. Found out there is a small drain hole on the bottom of the quarter panel side which was clogged completely with mud/debris. cleaned this out and now water flows out nicely.

anyone have a source for the thin rubber trim located between the bumper covers and the metal body panels? Mine are shrunken and cracked.

Go thru the whole body and clean all the drains. After 12+ years you would be surprised what gets stuck in them.

Smokie: Thanks! ...helpful but not what I need. It's the other seals between the bumper covers and the metal bodywork. One in the rear and one in the front...black skinny plastic/rubber pieces which pretty much wrap around the front and rear of the car. mine are shrunken and cracked at the corners..

Search the 968 board on rennlist, someone recently did this after repainting their car.

It may have been covered here but I do not remember.
