[quote name='rhudeboye' post='28209' date='Nov 22 2006, 06:50 PM']I got my car back from IMA today. Drives nicely <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> As I turned onto 495 I tried to power on the radio and nothing. Then I realized that the time should’ve been displayed once I turned on the engine but it was completely dark. I figured no worries, they must have blew a fuse. I got home and checked fuses 39 and 36, neither was blown but I changed them anyway. Those were the only ones I saw marked radio and I still have no power. Is there a fuse that I’m missing before I start to pull out the Alpine to check its fuse? Would I be correct in thinking there’s a slim chance fixing a gearbox and timing belt could damage the radio?

David,
Every time the battery is disconnected, the security code on the radio has to be reset. The procedures are in the manual. The stock radio will display black until the proper sequence to reset the code is started. If you misenter the code the display will stay black for a prescribed time and then will show "Code" allowing entry of the four digit code. Each misentry means more time between tries, so know the "code" first. Unless you told the garage the code to use, the radio will be in this "locked" mode until the correct security code is entered. I doubt the problem is anymore than can be attributed to a repair sequence that begins "disconnect battery". And there are a lot of those on this car.
