Racer X Chip passed CA smog
#1

well the time finally came to take the test - i was concerned that while the car passed with flying colors before, given that i have modified so many things, that it might not pass now

here are the results: (max is max allowable, average is average tested on passing vehicles, measured is what my car did)

15mph @1620 rpm

HC max 85

HC avg 21

HC measured 19

CO max .50

CO avg ,06

CO measured .01

NO max 695

NO avg 150

NO measured 96

25mph@1885rpm

HC max 50

HC avg 13

HC measured 11

CO max .47

CO avg .05

CO measured .01

NO max 717

NO avg 136

NO measured 49

bottom line - no problems at all with increased fuel pressure and racer x chip

WOOHOO!!!!!

Sooo glad to know there's no need to switch chips back and forth, just for the

smog test every 2 years. Man, these cars run clean.. with all the mods you'ds think it would be close, particularly under the even more stringent CA standards just enacted.

Wahoo, indeed !

I have always been amazed at how clean the 944/968 engines run. My S2 regularly recorded NO and CO levels of virtually 0 and my 968 is just barely higher.
