Putting front hubs back together
#1

I'm working on replacing the front wheel bearings in my 968 and I'm not sure if the hub itself should be packed with grease as well. The Porsche repair manual just vaguely says that the front hub and bearings should be packed with 60g of grease. However the directions from Clark's Garage don't mention actually putting any grease in the hub (between the bearings).

Seems a bit strange to me to pack the hub as well as the bearings with grease but I haven't done this before and I'm willing to admit that I don't have everything figured out here yet.

Thanks,
Tim

i'm sure it can't hurt, though i've never done that - i pack the bearing by hand, working in in thoroughly, and then pack the race area, insert the bearing, and pack again
