Hi There
Thanks to all who have helped out with the car this far - I've had it a month, so went 250 k to get an alarm put in and the a/c charged. Whilst in the big smoke (Dunedin, NZ) i put the car over a pit to see if i could see where the slow coolent leak was coming from - found it - the fan relay/switch on the radiator. So - once home, pulled the rad, and found a very sorry switch; no fibre washer and pretty corroded. Car temp lives just above the 8 o'clock whilst running, but will climb if sitting pretty rapidly to above 10 o'clock before the fans cut in ( it cools quickly after that back to above 8) - From what i can read on the switch I have a behr unit- with the 92/103 range - think if I'm going to change it I would like the fans to come on sooner -i do a lot of driving in hot weather and engine heats up pretty quick from cold once rolling. ( has new thermostat) so -do I go for 85/93 - want the fans to come on between 9 and 10, rather than above 10...
Drop us a line with any thoughts- I'm in NZ, so parts take a bit of time to arrive - maybe i should order 2 or 3....one for each range....
Cheers
Chris
