Dash Fan Switch Question
#1

I noticed today that my dash fan switch only work on the highest setting. Is that indicative of a bad switch or relay?  If the switch is bad, are there replacements available and if so anyone have tips on how to change the switch out?  Thanks.

If it only works on the highest setting, more than likely the blower motor resistor is bad. That's what the power runs through to control the lower fan speeds. It's located on top of the hvac box, under the black plastic cover at the base of the windshield

Ok, located the resistor, took it apart and cleaned all the contacts that I could find and put it back in.  Fan switch is working, 1-4 so hopefully that will be a long term cure.  Thanks for the help!

I have a similar issue, in that my fan still runs when the switch is in the off setting.  Does this sound like it would have the same root cause (blower motor resistor)?

Thanks Nathan

I have heard reports that the system is designed to move air even in the off position. Correct behaviour
