I parked my car near my front door and kept hearing the fan kick on. I opened the hood, and it is just the driver side fan. Kicks on sometimes for only one second, other times for up to 5 seconds or so. I unplugged the fan switch, figuring I would have to replace it. I was working in the garage, and it kicked on a couple more times! Would this be a relay problem? Good news is that I probably don't have to drain the radiator and replace the fan switch now!

yes, tap on the relay, wiggle it, or remove and re-seat for starters.

It was the relay. I pulled the one out of my '94 and that fixed the '92. Sure is nice to have a parts car!
