Picked up a '93 Amazon Green Coupe
#1

Did the deal last week and went to pick it up last night...only did it because it was too cheap to pass up! It is pretty rough in a couple of areas and the interior is actually pretty decent, but it can certainly be used for semi daily use...drive it while you fix it. Now I have a car to beat around in and maybe finally do some DE or Autocross...time permitting!

I had originally had this car at my shop and was selling it for the previous owner and now 11 months later, turns out the guy I sold it to can't afford the insurance and cost(s) required to give it the much needed TLC. They contacted me to see if I'd be interested and I just happen to have the cash on hand, so I figured why not? There are quite a few things to sort out and I still have my original list and the PPI from a year ago, so I'll start knocking things out one by one. My initial plans are to tastefully mod this car with lots of the goodies we all know and love. Basically, as I run across things that need to be fixed or replaced, I'll do it with aftermarket, better, more fun stuff. I can then keep my cab all stock and use the coupe as the guinea pig!

I'd post some pics, but it's just a regular 'ol Amazon Green coupe. The only neat option is the deviating dark gray/linen deviating interior. Perhaps Jeff can let me know how many were produced like this but it seems 93 Amazon Green coupes are a "dime a dozen". Evidently, Porsche had overstock on that color paint for this model year! I do need to get rid of the Design 90 rims, but that will most likely wait until I need tires.

Color me jealous! Amazon with gray/black/linen interior is OK by me. Just don't like the tan interiors.

Wish I could have a second 968 (coupe) for my daily.

Congrats!

Nice find Darryl. Well, not really a find but...

I also would like one of each but cash just wont permit it anytime soon.

Darryl,
Good deal and good luck with the new daily driver. I made an offer on a coupe recently but haven't heard back. As for Amazon coupes, you are right. I'm working on the coupe registry now but Amazon is on 4th place popularity wise behind red/black/white.

Completely agree about the tan interior...I just got done doing some minor things on a Boxster which required a test drive over a couple of days... ...no seriously, it did. It was Metallic Black (not Basalt Black) over tan. The tan interior started to grow on me a little but it's a little too orange for me. Some colors look better than other with the tan interior. As for the Metallic Black, it's a very nice color especially on the Boxster...starts to look Bronze in bright sunlight!

Sorry we missed each other in New Hope last weekend...I look forward to seeing your Speed Yellow cab.

Congrats Darryl, really nice car

Now I really need to come over and see you again. I need to hang out with you guys more often and figure out your techniques for talking your wives into letting you buy all these cars.

I had to hold my breath till I turned blue to get this one single 968.

Look forward to passing by and seeing both you and the car.

My apologies for not making it. Other events conspired against me! Besides, my cab was seriously dirty- I would have been embarrassed!
Damn do I want a coupe now!
