My speed yellow 968 coupe
#21

I would not consider the price listed as a premium, but was probably a premium to what is listed in Excellence in their yearly values.

It sure looks great.

The seller reports he has had numerous calls on the car and figures he could have easily got another $2K for it. Excellence doesn't recognize the "speed yellow" bump. The dealer in San Diego with the SY cab knows about that now as well <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.png" class="smilie" alt="" /> Thanks

Probably sacrilegious to say this, but I think it'd look great with an off center pair of black racing stripes

I'm thinking some black 17" C2 turbo style wheels would look outstanding. Will you do any mods at all? The 16s on this car never really looked right to me.

I will do only one mod, 17" 993 Cups (cup2s) as you suggest. I agree they would look great.

Sounds like a great idea Jeff! Now you'll have to update that profile picture <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.png" class="smilie" alt="" />

Awesome, I love Porsches in yellow! I was going to ask if you were going to sell the rims once you upgrade but I noticed they are not the ones I see on most '95's. How many rims were made available for the 968 over the years of production anyway?

Sonic,

There were three:

The 16" C2 Turbos (Cup 1s) were standard on all four years, 7" in front, 8" in rear.

17" C2 Turbos (Cup 1s) were optional (code 403) on the 92-94.5s, 7.5" in front, 9" in rear.

17"93 Cups (cup2s) were optional (code 398) on 94.5-95s, 7.5" front, 9" in rear.

There was an option (XD9) to get them painted in body color.

Thanks Jeff, it's the 17" 93 Cups that I like. They seem similar to more current Porsche rims. I've also seen them with a chrome finish. Were they ever offered on any other Porsche models?

So there's a 993 cup & a 993 turbo (which looks similar except the spokes are slightly angled)??
