Grand Prix White M030 6spd Coupe
#1

The old man picked this gem up off of eBay, which goes against everything we've ever lived by (i.e. buying a car you've never seen, driven, or had inspected). However, we've been hunting for a 968 with M030 for a very long time and could not pass on the opportunity! This car had every option we could have hoped for (i.e. M030, LSD, sport seats, cup wheels, etc, complete list of options below). The car went directly to the shop to get some much needed TLC (i.e. new belts, seals, bushings, etc) and I can't wait to get it back to give it a good detailing (I'll take more pictures once that is done). In the meantime, below are some pictures from the previous owner.

C02 - US Emissions

XX6 - Leather Shift Lever Knob

030 - M030 – Sport Suspension & Brake Package

220 - Limited Slip Differential

231 - 17" tires

383 - Sport Seat Left

387 - Sport Seat Right

403 - 17" C2 Turbo (C2 Turbo (Cup 1)) Wheels

418 – Body Side Moldings

454 – Cruise Control

490 - Hi-Fi Sound with Amp

498 - Rear Emblem Delete

650 - Sunroof

691 - Single In-dash CD

900 - Tourist Delivery

09991 – Built under Exclusive Program

I was wondering the same thing on the rear emblem delete. However, I have seen pictures of a few 968's with crests on the rear of the car, could that be it?

The 498 is the "968" on the back so it looks like someone added that back? Tourist delivery sounds like a factory pickup, given the side moldings It looks like a German (Euro) delivery.

498 - Rear Emblem Delete (Can't tell from the pic, is there an indent between the tail lights that says "Porsche"?)

900 - Tourist Delivery (Ordered in the US, picked up in Germany)

09991 – Built under Exclusive Program (Any customization would carry this code, from painted center crests to significant modifications)

Saw that car on ebay. If I hadn't picked up my M030 car two years ago, it probably would have been the one I would have purchased! You got a nice deal on it too.

Current estimates to get everything back in shape, including variocam, waterpump, seals, belts, bushings, rear shocks, etc, is in the $5-6k range. In the end, we may end up spending $15k total, but will have an M030 that we can feel confident driving.

You'd be in good shape if you got that in perfect condition for $15K. Good for you!

Well done and congrats on the purchase. Nice looking car and for the USA, probably as close to a Club Sport as you can get.

May the car bring you many years if enjoyment and great memories.

If you spend the dollars to fix it up, you then know everything is right with it.

Sharp. Craig is right. Spend the dollars, make it right so you are comfortable with it and you will enjoy it more. Go to Porsche registry and find out your cars history!
