2013: recommendation for Radar/camera/laser-jammers
#1

I'm serious about getting a 968. The only problem is that it's Red and screams give me a ticket. I'm thinking I may as well invest the first ticket's worth of money into avoid a ticket in the first place.

I've read the past posts - what's the current best working system?

Thanks,

Jamming police radar in the U.S. is federally prohibited. Do we really want to discuss that with the NSA watching?! <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/ninja.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/wink.png" class="smilie" alt="" />

The best working system is obeying the speed limit! Drive with a front door, stay in the right hand lane and don't weave. Lol this from a red car owner!!

This link has been discussed here a lot - http://www.radarbusters.com/

I figured when I get pulled over, I would just grin like an idiot, and when he says "what are you so happy about?" I would just say look at the car. Then I would say "Wanna go for a ride?" and see if that gets me out of it - lol

That being said, Rap's right. I never get pulled over in my non Porsche vehicles as I am never over 10 over the speed limit - They don't play around in Florida!

There is no way I would pay up tp 2K for a jammer either. That is a lot of fuel and toys!

jammers don't tend to work well in cars anyway. the distance is generally a problem. due to their power limitations, they only work short range. while you can show that a jammer technically "works" and obscures and/or alters the signal, the distance is so short between you and the cop that he knows something is up. upon inspection he finds your jammer and you're done.

detectors are very useful tools. they work much longer range, and give you warnings often long before you see the officer. they are also legal in most states.

I'm very happy with my Valentine 1. The directional indicators have helped me in many situations. My 968 is unique and so is my radar detector.

Both on my Lotus and 968, I have the Passport Qi45 with laser shifter...Saved me countless times... I have also verified with my law enforcement friend that they are extremely effective with her using her lidar...

Thanks everyone for the comments. Freedom of speech? I was more after the laser Jammer / shifter, like the iQ45. Wow 799$ for the iQ45. In Europe it's really quite nice. Not to many laser / Radars on the road and the GPS tells you where all the cameras are located. I got to think about this one.

To be clear, I'm not from Europe. I'm from Oregon. The last time I felt comfortable driving Fast was in France with a rented - Tom Tom. It was 100% reliable, at least between Belgium and France. This is the BEST reason to rent a GPS when driving in Europe.

While not a sensor or jammer, when driving on unfamiliar highways, I often use Trapster on my iPad or Android.

This escort might have been interesting - until I saw the $20 a month subscription fees.
