Odyssey battery mouting kit
#1

Did anyone try mounting kits for Odyssey 680 lightweight battery listed in Performance catalog and on www.automotion.com site? The kit has a kill switch option and, unlike the Portable Power Systems' battery box, comes with all hardware and does not require any drilling. However, it is listed as available for 911s/Boxsters/Cayennes and not for 968. I wonder if someone tried to install it on 968/944?

Are there any concerns with using the Odyssey battery? (Cranking power, durability, etc.)?

I've got one in my track car, and I love it...weighs about 11 lbs!

We made our own mounting kit, though.

My track toy runs a 968 motor and uses an Odyssey battery -- but I have it mounted using a custom bracket (made from aluminum heating duct brackets from a hardware store...) If you live in cold climate, then I would worry about cranking power. I have killed the battery over 1.5 hour of stop/go traffic, because at constant idle, you are running a slight power deficit -- but then how often are you stuck in traffic for more than one hour?
