NorCal/SoCal meet in Paso Robles
#1

It's been a while since the last one and I'm thinking we're overdue for the next get-together..? Given everyone's busy schedules these things need to be planned about 4 years in advance [], so I'm going to throw up a date here, as a start ...

Saturday March 25th ?

here's an idea....would anyone mind Paso Robles as a venue ? I realize that's

about two and a half hours from the " bay area ", but not a bad drive as things go and we may attract a few more SoCal 968s, making this a larger scale meeting..

we could even work in a winery tour or two given the right contacts...are you paying attention Bob ?

No replies on 968.net, so from this site the northern group looks like Sean, Josh, me, I also have a "definite maybe" from Ernest and let's see if Sam, Mark and

Buzz post anything in the next few days.. if not, I'll send them an email just to cover the bases..

Who's ( tentatively ? ) in from the south ?

Hey guys - as if the California 968 brotherhood wasn't enough incentive to

get a good showing here, here's another: WINE TASTING being arranged !!

Hey Guys... Just a quick note to let you know that the Rennlisters are having a run on February 25th. There should be at least 3 968's there, in addition to anyone here who wants to show up! See the following link for details (might have to scroll to the 5th or 6th page to get any real info).

Hope to see some of you there!

bump ! less than a month away - I think we have 3 ( ONLY ?! ) from up in this area and another 3 ( at least ), from SoCal. Nothing wrong with a small crowd, but hoping to drum up a few more..

Anyone ?

( keep fingers crossed for dry weather - otherwise the gathering will be a moving target )

It's on my calendar -- I just don't know whether I'll be in NorCal or SoCal, but I have a vehicle with a 968 motor in both NorCal and SoCal.....

waiting until flash gets back with details on logistics, but for the NorCal folks I was thinking a few of us could meet off 101 in Gilroy and caravan on down to Paso Robles from there.. not sure how well that would work out for the Sacramento group, but for that matter we can coordinate a second meeting point along the way ( at 152 / 101 intersect ), as well..

details to follow post flash return.

I guess we should keep an eye on the forecast a few days ahead of the event -

IMO, a "passing shower" shouldn't deter us too much, but not sure about more substatntial rain..

for you norcal guys, i'd take a good look at a map, and plan a nice fun route, and not just a straight shot - it will take a bit longer, but it will be a lot more fun

for example, we are going to take the coastal route, and shoot over 46 (going by memory here)

i am thinking that a starting point rendezvous at a restuarant for breakfast is in order

i'll post more details in few days when i get back in the office

hasta luego
