Newbie from Oregon
#1

Hello all,

My name is Damon and I recently inherited a 94 968 Midnight blue with White leather, 6 speed coupe and only 43,506 miles.

Hope to learn as much as I can on here while meeting some great people.

Hi Damon,

Very nice, low mileage example. You should read up on maintenance, there are a lot of items that need replacement as a result of time, not just wear. For example, if you do not know when the Timing Belt/Balance Belt was last replaced you should do so as soon as possible.

Can't wait to hear about your new 968.

Enjoy,

Jay

Hello and a BIG Welcome to the forum. +1 above on changing out the Cam and Balance Belts ASAP IF they have not been recently changed. Your new car may have problems with 19 year old Rubber Parts that need to be changed out because of Dry Rot. Check in the engine compartment all the Vacuum Line Rubber Connections you can find. A Vacuum Leak will cause engine running problems. A good place besides here in the DIY Section and Library for Maintenance is Clark's Garage at the link below. It is all about the 944, but almost all of it will be usable on the 968.

Wow, where can I sign up for some inheritance like that. Welcome fellow Oregonian. Don't hesitate to contact me if you need some help with maint. Defiinitely don't know everything, but have touched a lot in the last 22 mos. of ownership. And, I work for cheap compared to Jay, just a couple of bottle of our fine Pinot will do.

Don't misunderstand Jay. He is a wide ranging kind of guy. He goes from ham sandwiches to Pinot and everything in between!

Boo, to you Oregonians! You beat my alama mater (St Louis) in the NCAA tournament. However, buona fortuna with the 968.
