Newbie in town
#1

Hey guys,

New to the forum but definitely not new to Porsche world. I’m a Teacher and mechanic based in Little Rock, and I’ve actually built up a solid private inventory of Porsche and Ford parts over the years. I’ve been a gearhead since college, but my latest project is a ’95 Porsche 968 arriving in about two weeks.

I’ve already got a list of things to dive into, so expect plenty of questions once it lands. I’ve been following the threads here for a while and I’m stoked to finally join the crew.

Happy to chip in and help out where I can!

Hi Guys,
I'm new here, but not to the Porsche world. I am a retired professional racer from Canada, mostly in Porsche's. I was Service and Parts Manager at Heimrath Porsche from 1982-86. I started racing Porsche's for a living in 1986 and 87 with the Rothmans Porsche Series, then from 88-90 the Rothmans Porsche Turbo Cup. Then moved on to the Firehawk Endurance Series in 944 S-2's and 968's. Competed in the Rolex 24 at Daytona several times, the Targa Newfoundland 6 or 8 times, the NASCAR Busch Grand National Series, Export A Formula 2000 Series and managed Porsche Canada's Press Fleet in Eastern Canada for 18 years. I was twice Canadian Endurance racing champion. Firehawk in 92 and CERRC in 94. Was the only driver to compete in every Rothmans Porsche Series race over the 5 years of the series. I was sponsored by Reebok from 87-89, then Pioneer Electronics for 1990.
I am currently supplementing my income by offering my coaching services on track days and have purchased an M030 968 to use as a coaching platform. So I will be looking for some rare M030 parts and will be happy to offer my assistance wherever I can.
Happy to be here!

Well howdy Biggreen and Rickbye! Welcome to the club. It’s been a bit quiet around here since a recent upgrade to the site. Maybe your posts will help generate some activity. Still, there’s lots of good 968 info in past threads. Enjoy your 968s.
