I thought I was already a member on this site, but I could not log in earlier, so perhaps not. So here I am, again for the first time...or something.
I own a 94 968 Cab in Amazon Green on black interior. I purchased it in North Carolina six years ago with 48K miles on the clock. I have since added another 13K miles, which I have enjoyed immensely. I originally caught the Porsche bug in the early 1980s (like a lot of other kids). It really bit me hard after driving a friend's 1990 944S2 on a road trip in college. By the time I was in a position to purchase my own, I considered the 911 3.2 and SC. I drove a few; the sound of that air-cooled engine was great, and the looks are second to none, but they aren't the most comfortable cars in the world. As a relative tall fellow, the 911 seating position and pedals offset to the right, were a bit of a turn-off. Also, the prices were getting out of control. When I first started saving for one, you could get a really nice example for $18-24K. By the time I saved up that much, the prices had increased 60-70%...it seemed ridiculous, especially when you consider the superior balance, handling, and comfort of the 968. She don't look too bad either....so I picked one up with enough money left over to start a repairs account. Knock on wood, no major repairs needed as of yet. The car has been a champ.
