Greeting from my old Porsche workshop
#1

Hi,

I have gotten into Porsches in recent years because a neighbor bought one to replace his BMW and he wanted to go to Driver's Ed and learn to throw the car around the track. We went one chilly day in April 2011 and that was his last time, but I got hooked.

I know own a track prepped 1990 911/964 and a 1992 968 for the street. The 968 is a coupe, red, with about 90,000 that I bought off a PCA member in Indiana this past winter and drove home during the vortex cold. Part of having the 968 is to get to turn the wrench a little. It's not a perfect car, but very driveable and I'm not scared to take stuff apart.

I'm in Orange, CT. I'm a PCA member in the CVR group and try to get about 10-12 days at the track each year. For a living I try to teach Math to High School students. Actually, they do pretty well!

Welcome John,

I f you are patient enough to teach Math to teens nothing on the 968 should be insurmountable.

Enjoy the site,

Jay

Hi John,

I teach a little bit of math while I teach middle school band. Or is it the other way round?

I no longer have a 968, but this is a GREAT forum. I now drive a big, fat, Lexus LS430 and am a member of another

forum for that car. Let's just say that replies come lots faster here. And the 968 is so much simpler

to work on than

my Lexus. I often wish I had it back just for that reason. There are other reasons of course, and I don't

seem to be as early at appointments as I used to be.

Anyway, welcome to the forums and have a great time with that 968. Just about every issue encountered has

been addressed here by Flash, who sometimes lets others add to the dialogue. (Hope you are doing well, Bob!).

Best wishes and say a big no to common core. (Sorry, couldn't help myself).
