Just purchased a 1994 968 full race car from Sebring Florida and had it shipped out here last week. What have I got myself into??? I'm 56 and can barley get in and out. I removed the roll cage to help and took out the Sparco race seat so it's empty now. Sort of want to race and street it is the plan. It's got issues to be street legal with a lot of little repairs light getting the lights to work. I must have gotten bored or something. I might be to old for this rocket.

oh my that could be quite a lot of work, depends how stripped out it is,

but welcome along to the forum

I'm 60 and can still get in and out, service the car, and carry out any other repairs,

Welcome! You are about 30 miles from another member in Lake Oswego, and a couple in Portland. You should have good local advice if you need it.

I feel my age getting in and out of the car, but being in the seat more than makes up for the process of ingress and egress.

Check out the new member new owner link, lots of advice in there.

If you are going to track it you should have a racing seat, harness, roll bar and hans device at a minimum. The cage is no doubt a pain, but it would be more of a pain to get hit on the side.Put a removable racing steering wheel in and it will be somewhat easier to get in and out of. Somewhat being the key word. When things go bad on the track they go bad in a nano second. Welcome aboard!

Thanks for the greetings. Yes this car has all that. It was raced in the PCA class SP3 division for about eight years. But I want to drive it on the street as well. Not sure I can do both the way it is set up. I already removed the full roll cage and want to run it with just a roll bar in back and reclining race seat. I have two sets of racing tires and wheels with it so I have not even taken it out yet.

I looked up the Youtube videos for that car - man, can it GO. Nice find.

Looks like a pretty dedicated racecar but I don't see any reason you couldn't street it. Lights should be no big deal. What else does it need?

FYI if you wanted a cush streetable car to pair with your track coupe, there's been a nice tip cab on the Vancouver craiglist for a couple weeks with a reasonable asking price...

Hi Chad

I meet you and Michael (white cab) at yesterdays cars and coffee. Let me know if I can be of any help with assisting you with your 968. I think us three are it for Oregon owners.
