New door/ old door
#1

OK...so i wait nearly two months for a well known porsche guy to send me a driver side door I won on ebay. I pay for everything ASAP. ...... Pic of the door I won on left and pic of the door I just received today on right.

Guess how upset I am right now(ooops, this violates my ebay rule of "only spend money you can lose")........

Maybe he will send me my money back and I can throw this thing in the trash.........

Yep...not even close...I think this door is from first edition 911

Even the packing box was horribly constructed....

Anyway, I will give them a chance to correct this 'error' so no names now...........

I ALWAYS USE PAYPAL. THEY WILL STEP IN AND GET YOU A FULL REFUND.

WHAT A DRAG.

DID THE SELLER HAVE A GOOD RATING? ANY NEGATIVES FOR THIS KIND OF STUFF, OR ARE YOU JUST THE ONLY UNLUCKY ONE?

SORRY.

I guess I have been lucky. Other than one DH buyer (which after 6months ended in my favor) I have had all positive experiences on the auction site.

not a cab door...it has an old style cutout for door handle and no center crease. There is so much rust on it I think it is fron the 1970's....

There is no hole for the mirror!!!!!

maybe a 911?

""maybe a 911?""

I was thinking the same thing, that shape is NOT from our car style (924,44,68)

Xrad,Why didn't you try to buy a door at the http://www.oklahomaforeign.com/parts.asp site for a door?

Yeah, I will deal with one of the main used parts vendors from now on.

Oklahoma foreign has been super so far. Bought something over the phone and it was at my door in THREE days!!!

DCautomotive also great...

will call one of them Monday.

As far as doing something through ebay or paypal, it took this guy over 60 days to ship the door. He claimed a family emergency and having to get extra packing material(must be hard to find two pieces of scrap pressed board). Me, being a nice guy ONCE to everyone said 'OK, send as soon as you can.' Package arrived just AFTER the 60 day complaint cutoff by ebay and paypal only goes to 45 days. As a warning to others, be aware of ebay and paypal time limitations.......

Yeah I got the same experience with Oklahomaforeign. The parts were in 3 days in Europe and in excellent condition as they said.

This was my first experience with overseas shipping.

The only negative part was the tax I'd have to pay in Holland..........

Xrad, if u still need 968 drivers door, let me know I have one I bought as a precaution for the race car, thankfully I did not ever need it, as I have sort of retired 968CS to run my HSR early 911, I might be able to help u out, door is white.

Guess what:

After my stern email and phone call, the Door guy called me back this weekend and was VERY willing to help me and exchange the (as someone else pointed out above) more valuable door for the ebay door.

So hopefully I will get the right door soon...
