Today I tried another time to install the durametric software. Now it was working. I did a quick search into the software. But there is nog option left to add more or change the adresscodes of the different components.

The software that I use and is described in the other topic has more options to add and change adresses.

So there is no option to adding the alarm, abs, climate control etc to durametic.

You must wait for durametric to add them If they are willin to do that.??

I have just bought a Durametic Diagnostic tool. I have got starting problems and am hoping that it will point me in the right direction. I can't find the connection point on the car. Can anybody point me in the right direction.

Assuming you bought the one with the additional OBD-II conversion cable? It has a big round end on it, and the connector is in the passenger footwell, nearest to the side of the car (vs. the center) and up high under the dash. It may have a round cap on it that you have to unscrew first.

My apologies, I just noticed you're in Australia. Allow me to caveat that that's the location in a U.S. car - someone from ROW will have to comment on its location for RHD.

Here is what it looks like/installed on a LHD car....the glove box is removed on the passenger side, and it has the big black cap on it in the right in the picture. Shouldn't be too hard to find for you.

Good pics. Just to clarify, Stilly50, the diagnostic tool is not installed in that photo, but it does show the circular port with the cap on it, and the rubber "lanyard" that retains the cap when unscrewed.

That picture is also a good indication, for those who have asked in the past, of where the "climate control" sensing tube is located. It's the smaller, dull, black accordioned tube going from the circular vent in the dash (not shown) forward to the firewall.

Thanks for your help, I found it, but the durametric hasn't helped with my starting problems. As I have replaced the DME relay I'm guessing that i have a starter motor problem. so it's off to the mechanic as I don.t have a pit.

I change the starter motor the first day I owned the car....really easy. If you have a few jacks you can do it.

What are your symptoms?

I JUST read about this a few minutes ago on the Maserati forum , so have not had the time to do any research , but supposedly you can find very inexpensive ( around $ 20 ) wireless OBD readers which when paired with a ( equally cheap ) app on your android phone , will give you the full range of info and capabilities available on the likes of a " Bosch hammer " and similar tools . Sounds too good to be true but with the technological advances and plunging prices for tech gadgets, it may not be all that surprising . Don't know if it's a strictly android app ( called Torque ) or if you can get similar apps for any and all other smart phones, and the matching wireless plug-in reader ( they have those on eBay from many sources ) , but well worth looking into it for our 968s, IMO.

Obd2 software will not work for obd1 cars. Those tools are worthless for a 968.

total waste of your money, our early OBD cars do not speak the same lingo as later cars, it was only in 1996 that a standard was sort of employed,

the 944S2 /968 speak only Porsche ODB which is loosely based on an ISO type, as soon as you get to 96 and Boxster they speak OBDII
