MSD ignition?
#1

Multiple Spark Discharge

Gotta get those keywords in there (above)!

Anyway, those of us who are old enough to have tuned carburated engines remember the large benefits MSD units gave...especially on big-bore engines.

I think the 3.0 qualifies as big-bore.

Anyway, does anyone run that type of ignition? Granted, the gains will be a lot smaller on electronically fuel injected cars, but a clean burn is a clean burn.

Help the 968 newb figure it all out, please.

Cheers,

Mirror,

No info on MSD, but while we are on the subject of spark, what is the group wisdom on spark plugs and wires for a DD? OEM or after market goodies? I am going to replace both soon and if there is an improved product, I'd rather use it over OEM.

Not exactly a 968 motor, but Skip at Paragon-Product has a write-up for a 944 application with positive reviews:

i thought about putting this in a year ago.

i think someone around here had bad experience with it in his car.

i want to say something about elec interference?

really not sure. perhaps a quick search would turn it up.

I have had zero problems with the coil, im curious to try the multi spark unit, the coil works well, no noticeable gain, I could almost say it ran smoother afterwards, its hard to judge....
