I call B.S.  Most statistics put Honda as top seller in California.  And I still see more cars than trucks on the road everyday.

The cars are split up amongst a large number of types.  Although there are "more" cars, they are divided up into many core categories.  Trucks tend to have fewer models/manufacturer, meaning that the number of trucks is divided into fewer categories.  The drawing is not manufacturer specific - it is model specific. I daresay if the map was only manufacturer specific then Honda might well be number one everywhere.

Don't know about the State as a whole, but in both of the major metropolitan areas ( San Francisco and Los Angeles ) I see far more Porsches than I see BMWs and this has been the case for years and years.. in fact I rarely see any BMWs . Not sure where they got the BMW stats ?!

As for the split b/w SUVs and cars my observation in NorCal is probably about 50-50 , in SoCal however it seems to be approx 25-75 ( in favor of cars ) , at least from an outsiders' point of view since I only travel to SoCal about six times a year.


But I have to defer to Ryker's observations re the above split, since he splits his time between the two venues , lol.

Here in Pennsyltuckey, outside of the metro areas there are a preponderance of trucks. I'm not sure I'd venture as to what model or brand but it might be safe to say over 4-5 years old. In Luzerne county, in which I live, over 25% of residents are on Medicaid and Public Assistance. This no doubt figures into the age of the vehicles.

CA has so much agriculture land in the eastern part of the state, that's where the trucks hang out, drive 99 sometime, not too many bemmers there. I guess the x5 must count at a tzruck.
