MO30 Front S/Bar Fitment
#1

To those that have upgraded to this larger bar - have you noticed that there's an interference issue with the tie rods[?] I noticed when I jack up the car [with both wheels off the ground], the tie rods rest right on the s/bar. I suppose if the car is always serviced on a drive-on rack it's probably not an issue. And, it must be a fair amount of force because it leaves a mark on the tie rod. If the tie rods are bent it'll alter the toe-in.

I'm surprized Porsche didn't design in a little more room. It appears the front supports should've been at least .50 longer. It's probably a good idea to check my toe-in now...

I haven't noticed this with the M030 bars on my 968, but I don't lift it just in the front usually. Certainly have not noticed any marks on my tie rods from interference, something must be wrong...........good luck, Bob Blackwell.

I personally went down to the garage to take a look at what you're talking about. I jacked up the car, and measured between the tierods and M030 sways and have a good 3.5". The bars are even bent to intentionally give clearance. The only thing I figure could cause such interference is the bar being installed upside down, but then that's not possible for an arrownoticolenjineer, so I'm at a loss. Good luck.

My faith in Porsche has been restored. I was able to get the gazootenblat aligned with the splodnic-what-sa-callit and all is good now... Far-fon-neugan twisties can now be enjoyed...
