LS1 968

I would love to concert my '87 944S to an LS V8 if I had the 10-15k to properly do it.

lol - 15k wouldn't even come close to what it would cost.

by the time you get the chassis reinforced, the torque tube reinforced, the right gearbox in there, with the right gearing, bigger brakes to stop the car that is now going a lot faster, and suspension to handle it all, you're looking at at least 30k, even if you use a used motor.

a guy here went the "right" route with the motor and kit, but still hand't gotten the rest of the car done, and spent over 30k.  in the end, he yanked it back out, because there was another 10k minimum he was going to have to put into it, and put back the supercharged 968 motor instead.

Yikes! 30-40k? I can live with my 2.5L four cylinder.

jtp - lol - yeah - it turns out to be a whole lot more than the sales guy wants you to believe.  the 944 guys that keep saying it's cheap have no clue what a car is supposed to feel and run like, and are obviously willing to deal with a rattly twisty bucket of bolts.  those are the cars you keep seeing popping up for sale too.  funny that
