Leather Dye/Paint
#1

Does anyone know the official Porsche Color code for Classic Gray?

I am going to do a bit of touch up with the LeatherWorldTech kit.

Their color chart is here. http://leatherworldtech.com/LeatherColor...me=Porsche

Thanks

rxter,

I did some repairs with a kit from LeatherWorldTech a few years ago and found the color that they list as Classic Grey to be a little darker than my door panels. Maybe this was from age.

They told me to send back the dye along with a sample of my interior. They sent me a new bottle of dye which they color matched PERFECTLY to the strip of vinyl that I sent, and did not charge me for the second bottle.

Awesome customer service. The guy I talked to on the phone was named Randy.

I suggest you call them and ask if you can send in a color sample for matching.

The lift was at RS Barn...a scene very familiar to many of us, long may she wave.

Thanks Jamie - just getting back to this. Summer has been crazy busy this year for some reason. Anyway, where did you get your donor vinyl piece from? And how big a piece did you send?

Rxter,

The first time I replaced my sunroof gears I cut through the headliner to get to the mechanism. I made the cut under the trim panel that you remove to get to the sunroof mechanism. This approach seemed easier than trying to remove the headliner from the trim edges, and did not show any issues once the trim panel was replaced.

Anyway, that's where I got a few strips of vinyl.

I know you have a cab, so this won't work for you.

The piece I sent wasn't very big at all. I'm guessing about 1/2 by 1/4 inch, but I'd suggest calling them to see what they need. They may even be able to work with something smaller that you can snip from the back side of the door panel where it wraps around.

There may be a good spot on the cabs that I'm not aware of.
