Have 95 coupe with black leather seats and interior. Bottom cushion on passenger seat now shows a split at one seam and a small portion of seat cushion visible where leather has separated. Not a big problem now but it will get worse. Any suggestions on leather repair kits or solutions?

suggestion on leather repair kit - don't bother - they really only work on new leather, and then, not for long, and never at seams



solution - reuhpholster if you like those seats - replace if you don't



you can get the seats redone for $500 each at most any upholstery shop - there are kits out there too that might be less

What a shame. A costly repair for such a minor flaw.



My drivers outer side bolster shows wear/cracks and a small tear. All within an area that’s smaller then my palm. That’s the only real sign of wear on it and the other seats are in like new condition. My options however are just what’s stated above. What a waste! Reupholster one and the leather wont match the other seat, reupholster both and spend major $$$ <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/dry.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />



Gotta be a more cost effective way!

I'm gonna try it anyway...already have the stuff. I, like flash, am probably pickier than most, especially when it comes to cosmetic stuff, so I'm almost positive that I will only be moderately satisfied with the results, BUT, hear me out. If you've got tears or holes, it's already ugly and the point of wear will only get worse. If you can put a temporary solution together for 50 bucks or so, perhaps that will get you by. At a minimum, I hope it will prevent the tear from getting any larger until I want to drop the dough on reupholstry.



I'd much rather spend car funds on strut tower braces, Stage 1 chip, and at this point, gas!

I don’t know. That last one is a bit costly Darryl. Better stick to cheaper mods like a turbo conversion.

I agree with Bob. I purchased the restore kit and re-dyed my seats but it didn't last at all. I finally did the right thing and purchased new covers. My thoughts are that you just need to take care of the leather from day one. Once it starts to go, it's too late. IMHO
