Hi guys,



Has anyone had experience with the Koni B6 shock absorbers on a 968 tip cabrio?



I am currently running on factory standard suspension, H&R progressive front springs. Shock absorbers are now rather worn and need to be replaced. Hence looking at various options.



Car is not tracked.



My primary concerns are



1. Are the Konis a direct replacement fit? i.e no need for any form may be too stiff and

the are not koni , but bilstain .



standard front shocks are never a direct fit . you need to cut a piece off and empty the damper then fit the new damper inside the old one .



Rear ones are ditect fit . just 2 bolts and nuts a piece and you can change them .

Koni's will give you a firmer ride, but they are not as harsh as oem M030 Shocks. They are also adjustable. I purchased the set on my old car from Paragon products. They make a direct replacement....you just need to send them back your old front damper's as there is a core charge. Have you lowered the rear of your car as well? If not, have that done when you replace the shocks. H&R Springs lower the front end 1.25", the rear can be lowered .75" from the factory. Car will look more uniform.

Thanks for the advice. According to the vendor, the Bilstein Sport B6 (front) is meant to be a direct fit. But i guess as you've mentioned, since i am replacing only the damper there is still some minor work required to remove the old damper and refit the new one in there.

I had the rears already lowered previously. Car does look uniform at the moment. Was your old car a coupe or cab? I have a cab and am just concerned that the firmer ride will inevitably cause a lot more rattle in the cabin esp the roof frame since it is less rigid than a coupe..

I put Bilsteins on my previous 968 and loved them. Current car has Konis and it's hard to replace good shocks but wish I had my Bilsteins back.
