Koni's or Bilsteins?
#1

I finally found them for the front struts. Has anyone else tried them? Results?

My ultimate goal is better handling.

The only reason I have Konis on my 968 is that's what came with the M030 option.

I've always opted for Bilsteins on my BMWs and wouldn't hesitate to use them on any Porsche (including the 968).

Bilstein developed and offers it's PSS9 coil-over system. If there's a PSS9 system for the 944/968, I wouldn't hesistate to go in this direction.

AC Schnitzer used custom spec'd Bilsteins with their pricey and extensively tested spring/shock upgrade package. We installed a lot of these set-ups back in the ninties.

Otherwise the Bilstein "sport" model would offer excellent performance with great ride quality. This was the direction we took our customers if they couldn't afford the AC Schnitzer complete package (e.g., with the AC Schnitzer lowering springs).

Hi

I just fitted new adjustable Koni Sports on my 968 ! And I was very suprised,

both over the improvement in handling, and in ease of use of adjusting my dampers ! In Norway roadmaintainance is very poor, but you can have a very good time with a well prepared car. To get better performance of your car, i think

you have to see the whole of the things you can do to improve your cars performance. If you cahnge bushings (to Poly) and fit a Strut Brace, I think you are getting there.

Good luck, happy with Konis ! <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/laugh.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Karl- Kool list!! TX

Ground Control is looking for a factory strut to make sure the air scoop mount is in the correct place. If anyone on the west coast is near them, could you stop by and let Jay measure the position of the mount? They are in Shingle Springs, CA
