KLA sway bar brace
#1

Has anyone installed the KLA sway bar brace and are they worth the mods?

Well, no mods are required: you could back a KLA bar off from the car and return it to original condition with no trouble. Searching here should provide lots of information.

I own one and am very happy with it. The KLA has been called 'flimsy': KLA refutes this, and their argument is made here.

If you buy any brace for the 968 follow installation instructions very carefully: clearances are very tight and you can damage your hood.

if by the "sway bar brace", you mean the triangulation brackets that connect the sway bar to the frame better, then , yes, they do a good job, especially if you are running M030 bars - i have the ones by tarret engineering, but they are essentially the same item

if you mean strut tower brace, then, yes, i also enjoy mine, and noticed an immediate improvement in connected feel in the car, and reduction in camber change in the front end

Sorry for the confusion, but I was talking about the sway bar brackets. I already have the KLA strut brace and very happy with it.

Those inexpensive little brackets FINALLY solved the chronic problem I was having with the front M030 bar "walking". It never moved much, but did loose it's "on center" position enough to pop out the circlip on the end a couple of times.

Since I've installed the KLA brackets, there has be ZERO walking of that bar. Laying underneath there, it sure makes sense doesn't it? You see those long, unsupported factory floppy things that locate the bar? I can just imagine how much they might move!

Yup, good mod, highly recommended. Torque bolts appropriately and be a little careful as you are R&R'ing an engine mount bolt. They're kinda important.

The KLA reinforcement bracket is one of those cheap, no-brainer modifications that someone should have thought of a long time ago (like Porsche). I used to run an M030 bar on a street 951 and even with the circlips it used to pull the ends out of the control arm mounts.
