<{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->Where do you have your car serviced? I still have my 356 with Peter Dorfer at Carrera Motors. They are a great bunch of guys.
Apologies for being off topic <!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Good point. I kinda forgot about that. And considering the cost of a full header + cat job. its really worth looking into.
I love my 968 for what it is & don't hate it for what it isn't!

Don't want to open a subject that has been beaten to death, but you are losing horsepower by not having the K & N.

Sadly, I needed to use my brakes on the way home, but it should be easier to keep them clean now. And yes, gain is less than could be expected with K & N

Does any body have a photo of the underbelly of a US 968, a european 968. I will go past my garage on saturday and if they have a lift free, I will take a photo of my underbelly (the car's, not mine) and post the pic. I will also ask the guys at the garage as they where the original Porsche importers in the 90's.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Excuse the picture quality. I stopped at the garage and spoke to the guys... as you can see from the pic, my cat has been cut out and a straight pipe fitted. (Surprise)
South Africa only got un-leaded fuel around 1995, so any vehicles that were imported from europe with Cats generally had the O2 sensor disconnected. The porsche guys and the big engined merc guys ended up cutting the cats out.

Yup, It was the placement of the cone that bothered me as well. The one I saw was resting close to the engine w/o a back shield.
Our boxes are only allowing outside air in and blocking out all the engine heat around the box.
