How's your 68 intake/exhaust modded?
#1

Let me know if I missed anything relevant and Ill add it.

Should this Poll get good participation we will be able to find others with our same set up and possibly find advantages, disadvantages challenges noticed and work around for them. For those of us on Stage one, hearing the comments from stage 2 guys may be the push we needed.

The only downside is that the poll is anonymous. To work around this, simply copy and paste the format that I have below and edit if needed. I know with me, if a lot of typing is involved I'll put it off and possibly never get around to it. obviously today's not one of those days

Enough of that! On with the poll.

Did the 2 that marked other for chip used both have racer X chips? I want to add racer X. If both are racer X I will rename other to Racer X then add Other bringing its count to zero.

Some are listing everything but I was specifically looking at the differences in:
Chip
Headers
cat back
Airbox

my header, high flo cat & cat back are all RSB units. My muffler is the race tip RS Barn uses (not the tip most people have). Air box has the 4 holes drilled + K&N filter.

As the other OTHER in chips - I have the racer x chip....

I think if you added a choice for custom chip & racer x along with Other you would cover most options out there...

The "holey" air box looks like a popular mod.

i still maintain that its not as cheap as it seems.

Items needed to do the airbox mod properly.
-Hole Saw Bit
-4 Trim Rings
-K&N Filter
-Apoxy or other glue to secure the rings (this is not needed if the rings are the proper size, but i did it anyway)
-Whatever an hour of your life is worth
-File to clean up the edges of the holes
-And a Saw if you dont already have one and can't borrow or rent one.

-I have many tools, so i did not need to purchase a file, drill, or apoxy to secure the rings.

Either way, an awesome bang for the buck and potentially the cheapest power adder you can get for these cars. A must for any 968 owner imo.

lol - digressing from the poll for just a moment, well, i guess it depends on from where you are starting - i presume that most people have a certain amount of standard tools, like hole saws and glue guns

people like you and i definitely already have the tools, so no expense there

like anybody who constantly has to fix stuff that gets broken, i always have glue around in several forms, many of which would work, so no expense there

of course the K&N filter is already in most cars where performance is sought, so no new expense there

the subwoofer port/trim rings used to be very inexpensive at barely over $1 each - those are no longer available though, so costs have gone up on those

still, even if you had to buy everything, you are still in for about half the price of a good chip, and get a large comparative amount of power for the dollar - not the few dollars it used to be, but still probably the best bang for the buck

Which reminds me, my car also already had a K&N installed when i purchased it....so i did not need to spend any coin on one of those either.
